Updated 3/26/24: the county has extended this through April 10th.

Through April 10, 2024, San Diego County residents can use their CalFresh (or Disaster CalFresh) benefits to purchase hot or prepared foods at retailers that accept CalFresh.

This flexibility is being provided because of the recent severe storms that caused power outages, damage to homes, and other difficult conditions across the county.

Here's what you need to know:

  • When: March 5 - April 10, 2024
  • Where: All participating EBT retailers in San Diego County. (This does not include restaurants though!)
  • What: Use your EBT card to buy hot, prepared foods that usually are not EBT-eligible

This is a temporary change, so make the most of it while it lasts!
