New York EBT system update May 18-19

New York will be switching over to a new EBT system on Saturday May 18th to Sunday May 19th.

⚠ Update: On Sunday, May 19th at 5 pm, New York completed the transition to its new EBT system. EBT card usage can resume as normal. Your card number and PIN have not changed.

Update: New York announced that the updates to their EBT system are taking longer than anticipated. Services are now expected to resume late afternoon Sunday, May 19th. If the schedule changes again, we'll post further updates here.

During the transition, some EBT functions will be unavailable including making purchases on your EBT card.

Saturday, May 18th, 2:00am:

Online EBT balance checking will be unavailable, but the EBT hotline ( 888-328-6399 ) will still be active.

Sunday, May 19th, 12:01am:

The New York EBT system will be down.

During this time, you will not be able to

  • Use your EBT card for purchases or withdrawals
  • Check your card balance
  • Access the EBT hotline

(Estimated) Sunday, May 19th, 11:00am:

System updates are expected to finish.

  • You should be able to use your card as normal
  • If you use Providers to check your balance, you will need to link your EBT card again
